Raheem Sterling is an English professional football who currently plays for Premier League side, Chelsea. Sterling originates from Jamaica where he was born, to Jamaican parents. He moved to London aged just five. Stirling played for a local youth side called Alpha & Omega before being picked up by Queens Park Rangers aged ten. He was scouted by a number of the top academies and eventually chose Liverpool. His mum influenced the decision to move to Liverpool to ensure Raheem escaped the escalating gang culture in London.
He moved to Liverpool in 2010 for a reported fee of £450,000, rising to £2 million. He played in the youth team until 2012 when he made his full debut for Liverpool against Wigan, aged just 17. Stirling made an immediate impact on the first team and soon became a regular. His strong performances earned him a number of plaudits. After a contract dispute with Liverpool in 2015, Stirling joined Manchester City for £50 million.
Stirling had immediate success at City, winning the Premier League title in 2017-2018 and 2018-2019. The young superstar won the PFA Young Player of the Year award and FWA Football of the Year. He’s a versatile player and can play as a striker, winger or attacking midfield. Stirling is a constant threat with his ability to dribble, his fast pace and upper body strength.
