If you’re looking for signed Wolves shirts and other collectables you have come to the right place! Wolverhampton Wanderers, affectionately dubbed ‘Wolves’ by fans and pundits, is one of England’s best loved and longest running football clubs. They have played in the Premier League collectively for over a decade.
Wolves started out life as St Luke’s FC 142 years ago back in 1877, officially becoming Wolverhampton Wanderers in August 1879. They were one of the founding members of the Football League back in 1888. Wolves have long been pioneers at the forefront of the development of English football – in 1953 they were on of the first British clubs to install floodlights at their stadium Molineux – where the club is still situated to this day.
Wolves have won the FA Cup four times, finishing in second place a further four times. They also finished as runners-up to Tottenham in the 1972 UEFA Cup Final. Over the years they have struggled with massive ups and huge downs – including several instances of bankruptcy and financial difficulty. A remarkable turnaround in the 2010s saw Wolves regain their Premier League status in 2018, after a 6-year absence. The club has since established itself as a solid Premier League side, regularly challenging for European qualification.
Wolves’ recent resurgence has been spearheaded by a revolving door of capable managers, including Nuno Espírito Santo and Bruno Lage who was dismissed in October 2022 after only 8 games with just one win. Julen Lopetegui joined the club as coach from Real Madrid. He guided them to 13th place in 2023 but despite that was replaced by former Portsmouth and West Ham player Gary O’Neil, over a dispute with the transfer budget.
Signed Wolves’ Shirts
The iconic badge and colours of gold and black signify Wolverhampton city council’s motto ‘out of darkness cometh light.’ It wasn’t until 1979 that the now infamous ‘wolf head’ design was introduced – but it’s now synonymous with the club and the continuous achievements and hope and renaissance they represent.
